Candle Care

There are a lot of candle blogs and instructions out there, but this blog post is based around Suki Home candles & care. Looking after a candle is super easy and only require a few steps. Its important to take care of your candle to ensure the best burning experience and longevity in your candle.

Our candles are intended to add to your home’s decor and apathy as well as provide light and calmness. If you are wanting to light your Suki Home candle, please follow our thorough candle care guide below.

Burn Testing

We pride ourselves on the quality of our candles and can ensure we have burn tested each individual product. However, please note as each candle is hand and custom-made to order they may slightly burn differently.

Burn Time & Wax Drip

It’s really important to ace the first time you light your new candle. It’s imperative for each candle to have an equal burning pool. This ensures the candle wax burns & melts evenly. To light, a candle correctly, when first lighting it and depending on your candle size leave it to burn for at least an hour to create an even melt pool. Don’t forget to always keep an eye on your candle when alight.

Due to our candles dripping when you burn them we recommend placing your candle on a candle tray or small dish to gather any wax that drips. A great way to add further character to your custom candles is by burning them to how you please and then presenting them as part burnt.

Wick Trimming

As with any candle, you do need to trim the wick before the first burn and after each burn. This will help to avoid an uneven candle flame and/or it creating smoke.

Candle Appearance - Heat & Light

Our candles are designed to look fabulous both inside and outside. However please try to avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or heat. The reason being is we use high-quality materials, wax and fragrances but naturally, these products are sensitive to temperature and light which in turn can at times impact the candle.

General Safety

  • Do not place your candle close to anything flammable.
  • When lit, never leave your candle unattended.
  • To ensure a proper candle flame, please trim your wick before the first burn and after each burn to avoid a flicking or smokey flame.
  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

We hope this helps you take great care of you candles. If you have any further questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to us via our Instagram @Suki_Home or email customerservice@sukihome.com.au.
